It's a sad autumn when the trees don't turn in the mountains. Blame it on the fungus or the lack of snow last winter, but it's still disappointing. I'm hoping I'll be able to catch the tail end of the valley leaves. On the other hand, waterfalls are always pretty!

Sunflower
Sunday, August 23, 2015
Snapped this photo after a Back to School Mini Session with Amanda. This is why I love my 50mm prime lens. Look at that gorgeous background! "What sunshine is to flowers, smiles are to humanity.
These are but trifles, to be sure; but scattered along life's pathway, the good they do is inconceivable." -Joseph Addison
Rock Canyon Sunset
Monday, July 27, 2015
Sometimes there are some amazing sunsets in Utah, and if you're lucky, you have a camera on hand. If you're not so lucky, you miss out on some beautiful clouds. My husband and I had the opportunity to hike Rock Canyon and test drive my new 50mm and 105mm lenses. I love them! Happy late birthday to me!
Spring Nature Walk
Monday, March 23, 2015
Part of being a photographer, is finding places to take pictures. We're always looking for an excuse to grab our camera and take a walk. One of my favorite places to take spring pictures in Provo, is the Provo River Trail. This trail runs all the way from Vivian Park to the Utah lake. Although I haven't explored the full trail, it has some hidden gems I thought I'd share.
Spring is in the Air, Blossoms Everywhere
Wednesday, March 18, 2015
Spring is in the air! There is bird song and blossoms every which way you turn. Flowers are coming out of the not so frozen ground. While walking on campus this morning, I managed to take a few pictures just with my cell phone, but it just wasn't enough. I went home as fast as I could, tossed a few things in my camera bag, and attached my 85mm prime lens. Blossoms are so fleeting, you have to take advantage of the moment before the wind snatches them away. Campus has gorgeous blossoms. There are pink ones, white ones, yellow ones, and so much more! There are daffodils, blossoms, hyacinths, pansies, and all the flowers I can't name.
A Little Winter Fun
Monday, December 22, 2014
I recently took a photography class offered through the local community recreation center. It was a lot of fun and it gave me an opportunity to shoot some new scenes. I also got to play with the ISO, aperture, and shutter speed. These were taken on the east side of Utah Lake as the sun was setting.

Provo River Trail - Fun Times
Wednesday, October 29, 2014
Fall is a beautiful time in Provo. The trees turn marvelous shades and there is something magical about walking on crunchy leaves in the evening with a camera in hand. I just have to say that my husband is a very loving and patient man even when he's not interested in posing for my pictures. He also knows some really good picture spots. Seriously who knew that there was a perfect photo opportunity behind the theater?
