Amanda | Fall Mini

Wednesday, November 4, 2015

Between all the craziness I've had these past few weeks, I forgot to put these pictures up! Amanda will sarcastically tell you that she just loves being alone with me and my camera. Despite her broken toe, we had a ton of fun "mini hiking" to get the perfect spot with rocks and cacti and all manner of ants.

Looking for some Christmas pictures? Keep an eye out for my Christmas Mini sessions, coming soon.

Waterfall | Big Cottonwood Canyon

It's a sad autumn when the trees don't turn in the mountains. Blame it on the fungus or the lack of snow last winter, but it's still disappointing. I'm hoping I'll be able to catch the tail end of the valley leaves. On the other hand, waterfalls are always pretty!

Thoughts on the Fall Season [Personal Post]

Wednesday, October 28, 2015

Autumn happens to be my most favorite time of the year and my least favorite time of the year.

I don’t look forward to pumpkin spice lattes or Halloween. I don’t like horror movies and bloody masks on children. I don’t like haunted houses. I do look forward to the spirit of the season. I love the fall colors, the cooler weather, and the camaraderie. I love the late night snuggles and drinking hot chocolate with my husband. I enjoy family time, friends, and good books.

Fall is the beginning of the school year, of exams and papers, but this year it’s also the end. With graduation fast approaching I’ve begun to reflect over the (almost) four years I’ve spent at Brigham Young University. This is my last fall walking daily beneath the beautiful colors of campus. It’s the end of a season for me, but the beginning of another.

As I think about this fall, and the gratitude I personally want to express, I challenge you to think about the season. What are you grateful for?

So what does the following image mean to me? Three years ago yesterday, my husband proposed to me so I thought it only fitting to include my ring. The many types of leaves? I've spent years walking to and from campus attending classes and watching the leaves change color. I've smelled the flowers and listened to the birds sing. I watch as the flowers turn to these little berries and wondered why the deer don't eat them. I watch as everything turns and falls. Everything that is but the evergreens. They are a constant reminder that spring is not far off. And when the wind shakes the trees and cones fly from the tree. I'll miss that too. And you can't have an October post without a pumpkin. So on my way home from class, I took a nature walk. I collected bits and pieces reliving memories. Here is my story:

Provo River Trail - Fun Times

Wednesday, October 29, 2014

Fall is a beautiful time in Provo. The trees turn marvelous shades and there is something magical about walking on crunchy leaves in the evening with a camera in hand. I just have to say that my husband is a very loving and patient man even when he's not interested in posing for my pictures. He also knows some really good picture spots. Seriously who knew that there was a perfect photo opportunity behind the theater?

Mountain in Autumn

Wednesday, October 8, 2014

My husband and I were driving through the canyons today. They were full of vibrant colors. The view was breathtaking!
