It's spring, and that means prom season is here! It's time to break out the princess dresses, flowers, and the oh so lovely jewelry. Time to plan pictures and fun! I had the opportunity to photograph my brother's group informally before all the festivities began.
A shoutout to the wonderful Sister Gaisford who let us borrow her shaded driveway.

Spring Portraits - Jazmyne
Friday, March 27, 2015
Jazmyne and I had so much fun this week taking these spring photos. Who doesn't want a portrait session where your inner child can come out and play on the tire swing? Except for the few bikes and pedestrians looking at us, it was a very calm day with some amazing weather.
And I can't forget to give a shout out to my loving husband who came to help with the reflector and provide some comical commentary. It's true love. Truly, it is.
Spring Nature Walk
Monday, March 23, 2015
Part of being a photographer, is finding places to take pictures. We're always looking for an excuse to grab our camera and take a walk. One of my favorite places to take spring pictures in Provo, is the Provo River Trail. This trail runs all the way from Vivian Park to the Utah lake. Although I haven't explored the full trail, it has some hidden gems I thought I'd share.
Spring is in the Air, Blossoms Everywhere
Wednesday, March 18, 2015
Spring is in the air! There is bird song and blossoms every which way you turn. Flowers are coming out of the not so frozen ground. While walking on campus this morning, I managed to take a few pictures just with my cell phone, but it just wasn't enough. I went home as fast as I could, tossed a few things in my camera bag, and attached my 85mm prime lens. Blossoms are so fleeting, you have to take advantage of the moment before the wind snatches them away. Campus has gorgeous blossoms. There are pink ones, white ones, yellow ones, and so much more! There are daffodils, blossoms, hyacinths, pansies, and all the flowers I can't name.
Today is Your Day - Weekly Quote
Saturday, March 14, 2015
Today is your day. Sometimes I feel caught up by the world around me. I go here and there, dictated by other's opinions and agendas. One of the great things about photography is the ability to take charge. To capture on camera what you want, not what others see.
I will admit that Dr. Seuss was nonsensical at times, but from such nonsense are some very wise moments of insight.
"You're off to great places. Today is your day." So today, I want to do more than just Carpe Diem. I want to make today my day, wake up to the sun and have fun. Today is Pie Day how will you celebrate?
"Your mountain is waiting, so get on your way." Sure there are hard times that stand in your way, but if you know what you want, that mountain is waiting! Go climb it. Have an adventure!
Go get yourself some pie. Today is your day!
Anniversary Downtown Trip
Monday, March 9, 2015
It's a little late to be posting these, but I thought I'd go ahead and do it anyway. My husband took me downtown to do a little sightseeing and shopping before we had dinner for our second anniversary. What can I say? He's the love of my life and he spoils me. We went ahead and walked around temple square, and I was grateful that all the beautiful brides had lovely weather for their pictures.
Orange Umbrella Self Portrait
Not much going on this week, but I did get out and have some fun with some of my new gear. I think my remote shutter release is my new best friend. I actually did this shoot as part of an assignment my teacher asked us to do for one of my advertising classes, but I thought some of the pictures turned out pretty well and I just wanted to share. As always, feedback is welcome! Let me know what you think!

Katherine & Troy - Maternity
Sunday, March 1, 2015
Without the normal snow coating the ground and freezing Provo like it normally does this time of year, we didn't have much to work with background wise. But lucky us, Provo has some fun buildings and backgrounds you can play with if you know where to look. These two were tons of fun and lots of laughs. Plus, the big announcement, we've crowned the champion bubblegum bubble-blower of the relationship! Can't wait to meet their little boy!
